Hi - Let me re-phrase more simply... I want to give users the ability to create public views on lists, however restrict their ability for them to rename/delete columns within the list itself. Is there anyway to achieve this without any 3rd party software?

Hi Paul, Thanks for the response. Now just to follow up, does an item get removed from the library on it expiration date or the day after? For example if the expiry date on a document was today (15/01) and I set it to be deleted, would the timer job that runs in Sharepoint actually delete the file today? or tomorrow? Thanks, Tony
