1           Job Purpose (Mission)

To manage a team of six developers, supporting the rollout of the new corporate Intranet and delivering ‘Workflow’ applications across the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa).  These applications will be based on Microsoft Office Sharepoint Services (MOSS2007), .Net and Biztalk technologies. The intranet will provide a web based platform for all information sharing and project collaboration, and become a workspace for business applications and workflow management

2           Key Result Areas

·         Manage a team of application developers, including recruitment, mentoring, motivational leadership and performance management, to deliver effective business systems solutions which support business objectives.

·         Successfully present and market EIS services, including unfamiliar new technologies, to business management – communicating ideas clearly and precisely.

·         Deal confidently and knowledgeably with suppliers and consultants in the Microsoft technology arena. 

·         Determine business objectives, by discussion with management and key system users, investigating options, presenting proposals and analysing feedback so that development requirements are clearly documented and agreed.

·         Manage the progress and completion of Projects (possibly multiple and concurrent), using methodologies to control and monitor tasks and resources so that solutions are delivered efficiently and timely.

·         Control the development and implementation of system changes by enforcing the EIS ‘System Development Life Cycle’ procedures to ensure that systems are provided according to management intentions and approval consistent with our ‘Sarbanes Oxley’ commitments.

·         Provide a lead in the Intranet and Workflow application areas, maintaining up-to-date expertise in the appropriate technologies so that best practice and technical opportunities are constantly reviewed.

·         Support existing systems by monitoring and providing timely responses to perceived issues so that the user expectations and needs are satisfied.

3           Experience

·         Managing  the implementation of intranet-based collaboration and information applications in a multi-national / multi lingual environment

·         Managing teams of developers using Microsoft Sharepoint, Biztalk, .Net and C#

·         Managing multiple concurrent projects with appropriate methodologies.

·         Working with users and management to re-engineer business processes

4           Skills and Knowledge

·         Familiarity with Microsoft Sharepoint (MOSS, SPS, WSS) functionality

·         Appreciation of .Net and C# programming methodologies

·         Appreciation of other Microsoft technologies such as Biztalk, Exchange, Active Directory, SQL.

·         Strong verbal and writing skills to communicate equally with business managers and technical developers.

·         Ability to design and perform System Test Plans

·         Ability to anticipate and provide solutions to problems.
