We're really pleased to announce that a Vendor Night Showcase will be held at 6.30pm 24th Feb 2011 at Southampton University.
This will be a great opportunity to find out more about what can be done with SharePoint, and its not often that you get a chance to see vendor presentations in this format. The evening will include refreshments, pizza, and chances to win cool prizes!
Each vendor will have 30mins to present an overview and demonstration of how their products work. There will also be a chance to interact with vendors and ask further questions if you wish.
We've chosen five vendors that enhance different areas of SharePoint: Search, User Adoption, Management, Migration and Storage.
Concept Searching – Paul Billingham will be presenting the management of free text documents in SharePoint and other document repositories accessible from SharePoint, involving Taxonomy Management, Records Management and improving basic search results.
OI Software - Paul Henry and Pete Denness will be giving an overview and demonstration of the nGage suite of collaborative tools and applications for SharePoint 2010. They’ll talk about how they built them leveraging what’s good and new in SharePoint 2010 as a development platform. Focusing on the issue of user adoption of SharePoint: how nGage can help you to define it, measure it and drive it.
Rachel Lyon from Avepoint will talk about SharePoint Management Best Practice looking at Strategies & tools to lower your SharePoint total cost of ownership.
Dr Steve Marsh from Metalogix will demonstrate how you can get all of your content quickly and easily into SharePoint 2010 using the latest iteration of Migration Manager. He will then show how you can increase your options for managing your content storage both from a cost and technical perspective using their award-winning StoragePoint product.
Lightning Tools - Brett Lonsdale. Permission Managers find it extremely difficult to assign or report on permissions using the out-of-the-box functionality or without requesting information from Active Directory Administrators. DeliverPoint offers full permission reporting, dead account detection, and the ability to copy/transfer/delete permissions across multiple objects such as List Items, Folders, Lists and Sites.
Attendance free, register at http://suguksouth1.eventbrite.com/. You must register to attend!
Vendor nights are always popular and space is limited so don't leave it too late to sign up!
