    MOSS 2010

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been around for a while, but had over things that I've had to focus on. Anyway, to the point, how do we go about setting up a MOSS 2010 area, ala the 2007 and 2003 forums that we already have?
    Thanks

Re: MOSS 2010 Forum and a question

I would agree that a forum for Moss 2010 would be helpful, we are looking to implement this on a greenfield site, so rather than look at all the stuff for 2007, it would be helpful to be able to concentrate on the issues arising from 2010 only.

Anyway, on to the question; I have been advised that there is a site collection limit of 150GB after which SharePoint runs into problems for access and search. What mechanisms are there out there to deal with this where the organisation's document management aspect runs into terrabytes, much of which requires access by the same people?

    Thanks

Re: MOSS 2010 Forum and a question

150GB ? where does that come from. I agree that 150GB is well in excess of the capacity planning guidelines but in theory it should still work as required. The only scenarios where you might run into performance issues will be with large lists (including the management lists such as userinfo etc). You could run into search crawler problems with a site collection this large if it contained a lot of unique permission ACLS.

Re: MOSS 2010 Forum and a question

Thanks for the info,  as I said we are new to SharePoint, so what are the capacity planning guidelines for 2010 and how does this affect the document and records management aspects of this?
