    Hello... I'm new

Hi.. my name is Glenn and I'm a recovering mainframe analyst.

I've been charged with implementing a SharePoint collaboration solution, though god knows why because I haven't got a clue.

Welcome aboard. Hope you understand what you've let yourself in for :)

Try and get yourself along to one of the regional group meetings, you'll meet people in your area working in MOSS who you'll be able to lean on for advice and guidance.

    Regards

    John

    Re: Hello... I'm new

Thanks for the welcome John. :)

MOSS??.. eeh lad, we in yorkshire don't pay fer owt tha nos.. we use WSS free.0 .

Are you a mod?.. if so can you tell me how I can access ALL the forum threads as when I enter a forum that says 135 threads for example I only see one or three???

I'll attend a group meeting when I know enough not to be embarrased. ;)

    Glenn.

    Re: Hello... I'm new

    Hi Glenn,

As John says, welcome aboard. The user group is made up of a very diverse group of people from end users to Developers, Admins to Designers, All of which will be mroe than happy I'm sure to share their knowledge with you through the forums and user group meetings.

Please do try and make it along to one of the user group meetings as these are a great way to network with fellow SharePointers in your neck of the woods.

And with regards to the forum numbering, Scroll to the bottom of each forum and you'll see a forum options button. Click this to change the age filtering on each forum. Search results will show all results regardless of age however.

    Hope this helps.

Thank goodness for that. I'm new around here too so don't be ashamed of feeling isolated as a newbie :)

    Re: Hello... I'm new

Glenn, we are hoping to host a user group meeting in manchester on March 9th. Will be a great session to attend and introduce yourself. You will find all levels of skills at the meet but above all what you will find is helpful advice and guidance.

If you can come along make sure you come find me and I'll point out some good resources for you to take a look at.

Also dont be afraid to ask questions here. Everyone started out where you are right now so we know how you feel and are always happy to help.
