Hi folks,
I've been a frequent user of IRC for several years now and what surprises me is that there's no active community (at least none that I know of) on IRC. I googled around a little bit and all that I found was a post on these very forums, pondering the idea of a chat channel.
So what I've done is set up a chat room on a popular IRC network - details to follow - as a bit of an experiment to see how popular it'll be with the community. I'd like to think it's something people will visit and use with aspiration of a live community of peers.
Details are as follows:
IRC Network: EFnet - list of servers to connect to can be found
herePopular IRC client application:
Download hereChat room name: #sug (type
/join #sug To join the chat room)
I'll try and help with any queries on getting started with/connected to IRC, in particular the client (mIRC) I've linked to.
This is purely experimental but I'd like to think it'll get enough frequent visitors/idlers to make it worth while. We'll see how it goes. Hope to see you there!
