Forming an Isle of Man SharePoint User Group

Judging from contacts I have made there seems sufficient interest to start an Isle of Man group.

Within the next month or two IoM BCS have kindly agreed to host an event to kick this off. I'll post more information here when I have it.

In the meantime please register your interest here by either posting or contacting me.

I'd be interested to know how you use SharePoint so that we can best reflect your interests when arranging meetings. Please post any info you think relevant such as how long you have been using it and your role with it.

    Thanks

    Roy Beale

    Hi Roy,

I would be interested in joining an IOM user group.  My company currently uses WSS 2003 for an intranet site, but very badly!.

I am interested in joining the group. We have just started use MOSS Ent 2007 for intranet/ document management. I will be using it and developing the structure. I am unable to help organise the group at the present time, but would like to in the future.

    Hi Roy
we are using Sharepoint for content management at the moment and we have done some integration with our LOB systems.

Good idea to setup a local branch and I've attached a link to a post and video from Michael Gannotti about setting up user groups

Re: Forming an Isle of Man SharePoint User Group

BCS have kindly funded a SharePoint related meeting at the Claremont on Monday 30th November at 6pm.

The presentation will be on SharePoint as a Document Management tool now and in the future.

The speaker will be Gabriel Karawani, Technical Director at ClearPeople, Microsoft Gold Partners that have specialised in SharePoint Document Management for many years.

I attended a similar presentation by Gabriel at Microsofts London HQ last week and thoroughly recommend it.

    More details early next week.

    Hi Roy,
PDMS would certainly be interested in joining an IOM based user group.

    Hi,

I'd be interested in becoming a member of this group from a designer aspect it would be good to interact with SP developers and Administrators.

The Presentation at the Claremont looks great, well done.
