Hello,

I have a document library where I have some columns. There are required fields. We want to upload lots of docs at once with the same column data. MOSS tells me that I have to add the column data and check in each file. This seems a painful and time consuming process.

Hi Adam,

To speed up the process try using the data sheet view to enter the meta data after the bulk upload (this works like Excel so you can copy and paste meta data across multiple records) and then use the Content and Structre tool (found in site settings) to quickly check in multiple docuements at the same time. (should save you a lot of time and clicking).

Or if its a one off you could consider setting default values on your columns.
