SharePoint User Group UK

I’ve done some preliminary investigation, and it seems that users with Read access to a document library are not able to create a Personal View in that document library.

 

It seems that you need at minimum Create access.

 

Can anyone please confirm if that is standard out of the box SharePoint functionality, or is this something unique to our set up?

Hi Milicah,

As far as I know this is standard MOSS functionality - you will need to have contribute access to create a view.

This is certainly the case for our setup over here.

Although I would be interested in knowing how to stop users with contribute access from creating personal views but I havent had any luck with that.
