    I would like my email alerts notifications to show two additional fields from the library. Does anyone know how to do it and if this is possible.

    Hi, I think you would have to create a custom SPAlertTemplate and assign this to your list. I'm not sure whether or not it could be done entirely through the front end by adding those fields to a view ...

    Changing SPAlertTemplate is a way to go. This blog digs a little bit deeper http://www.dotblogs.com.tw/angi/archive/2009/05/06/8322.aspx. 
    Or just give a look at this which allows users customize alert email content.
