SharePoint User Group UK

Hi All,

Just setting up a profile import to my SharePoint site.  We've created a user acount to read the profiles and it has imported the 50 or so accounts we have in AD at the moment - First Name, Last Name, Display Name and Account Name - we don't have the entire organisation or much detail in AD yet but will have soon.

I've given our AD man a list of the properties I'd like importing and he's asked what permission the access acount will need to have to these AD.  Is it read only?  Is it read and write?  Is there a special AD term?

Hi,

You only need "read access" to the AD for the reader account. The number of properties read doesn't make any difference.
