Hi,

I have written a custom workflow in VS2008 and am trying test it. I have several tasks and I am having problems with the 1st task!!

Basically the task has create task - sendEmail - while loop - sequence activity - onTaskChanged - 2 if else branches with a sendEmail activity in each.

Stepping through my code there appears to be no problem - both the createTask and SendEmail activity appear to run fine. Except in my Document list the document with workflow running against it says that an error has occured. Checking the logs I found this entry:

This suggest to me that there is a problem with my correlation token. But all the acvities mentioned above all use the same token "taskPMApproveToken". Which is owned by the workflow. All other tasks use different tokens.

So I am not sure where the problem lies? Any ideas anyone?

Feel as though I should know the answer to this but yet find myself asking. I have a UserControl (VB) I host in (SmartPart) which contains an AJAX Accordion, I would like to add some styling to it. With the default AJAX examples you import you stylesheet and reference in your HTML source.

I Cant do this as im A: In MOSS 07 and B: Using a UserControl through SmartPart.

Should I be adding the styles into my sharepoint .CSS files? if so which one? Can anyone refer me to any posts which explain this process in more depth? Should they be coded directly into the UserControl.ascx file? Can I keep a seperate stylesheet but put it in a specific location (tried the UserControls folder in MOSS - didnt work).

Any help on this would be great as at the moment my controls are 'naked' :/

First, it appears from a cursory glance at the SAGE website that in order to get hold of the SAGE 200 SDK I have to pay something in the order of £2000!

Before I do this, I need to know if my client's requirements seem feasible.

They store drawings and Bills of Materials in SAGE 200, and they send emails from within SAGE to customers and dealers.

1. They want an automated batch operation to download new or amended drawings from SAGE to Sharepoint, probably nightly

2. They want any emails (quotes and orders) generated from SAGE which reference drawings to contain a hyperlink to the drawing stored within Sharepoint.

As a very inexperienced Sharepoint developer, and a total novice SAGE developer, I wonder if I would be better off suggesting that they get a SAGE developer to deal with that side of things?

Running MOSS 2007 Enterprise. I would like to use the Advanced search web part to request the search, but display the results in a list view.

here is what I envision

2 lists (active/archive) with identical schema, each associated with its own selectable scope so the user can specify results from one or both.
primary method of search will be building property queries using the Advanced Search OOTB functionality
intercept and parse the results for list item IDs
use IDs to populate SPGridView

Any thoughts on how to capture the item IDs? I understand there is a hidden results object, but cannot find API documentation.

accessing original list fields within custom TASK form

I've created a custom list (PBE) and attached a workflow which creates a task. When i edit the task I am in my custom task form (.aspx)

I want to check a value in a field in my orginal custom list (pbe). The url passed to the custom task form has several parameters, but I think list = task list. In ID parameter I can see the original list guid.

Is it possible to retrieve the orginal PBE data through the task list or do I need to edit the url ID field, saying this I dont have a reference to the item itself ?

i'm coding in c# and using Visual Studio

Problem submitting Infopath forms using host headers

I have a problem with a form that we are about ready to go live with - except for this one BIG issue...

The form is deployed to http://intranet and is available to all our Intranet users. Yesterday i started testing via http://intranet.domain.com - the URL users outside the comapny will access the form from and i am getting the following errors when trying to open a new form:

The following location is not accessible, because it is in a different site collection: http://intranet.domain.com/Infopath/Forms/template.xsn

I have the form published directly to a document library (browser compatible) from InfoPath with Domain trust.

Please help - this must be a pretty common set up but i can't find info anywhere.

Display column set to : Append Changes to Existing Text

Hi all,
I'm using SP Designer to display a custom view of a list. One of the fields is a text entry (rich text) and the "Append Changes to Existing Text" is set to Yes. When I display the field in Designer I only get the last entry, however when using the SP view it looks fine also including the name and date of update.

Is there away of getting at all the entries in this column ?

Any help appreciated - hope i'm not missing something really obvious.

Hi,

I have created a custom button with the 'is blank' & 'is not blank' rules mentioned in various posts on the internet.

When submitting the form for the first time it creates the new form which is visible within the forms library.

If you reopen that form from within the forms library and change anything it does not update the fields to reflect this.

The submit button has the following rules configured using Rules & Custom Code.

Rule 1

Edit (filename is not blank)

Action 1: Submit to data connection

Action 2: Close Form

Rule 2

Submit (filename is blank)

Action 1:Set a Fileds Value concat(CR_Number_Short_Description, now())

Action 2: Submit to data connection

Action 3: Close Form

The button uses a data connection to the forms library with 'Allow overwrite if file exists'.

Can anyone tell what I am doing wrong here please this is driving me mad for the last three weeks.

A Complaints Management system

Hi,

we have a complaints sytem which was developed 10 years ago in Domino. The person who maintained this system has left, so we are sort of skills.

Given the system is very simple, I wondered how easy to develop a similar system (little or no end user training) in SharePoint.

Current system is a form with about 30 fields on it. Whe the form/list is filled in, an agent runs and copies some of the info into another list in another DB in Domino. This has a DECS connection to our iSeries (AS400) when this smaller list is uploaded, and a letter is printed out and sent to the person making the complaint. This letter print process then flags the complaint as letter sent. From this point on, and changes to the complaint is done manually, ie, I might upload a letter, or add additional text, and any additional letters are manually produced.

Does this sound like a List/form in SharePoint, with an ODBC connction through to the AS400? and how difficult/much time to put something like this together.

Morning All,

I have been trying to get around a problem when automating the creation of pages with webpart content. One of the pages has a content editor web part on the page which contains help information.

The Content Editor web part has a web part property called Content which contains a <!CDATA[ ]]> tag to hold the HTML content of the web part.

However when you automate the deployment of a web part on the page you use an <AllUsersWebPart> tag which also has a <!CDATA[]]> tag in it. Now I know that you cant have nested <!CDATA[]]> tags so I have tried the following approaches:-

1. Use < > for the CDATA tag which kinda works but annoyingly then you get the content of <CDATA[Some HTML]]> in your Content Editor web part.

2. Just put in the content without the <!CDATA[]]> tag ... and then an error is displayed when the page is displayed.

Its doing my head in so I'd really appreciate any thoughts.

Is it possible to create to do actions lists with email reminders in multiple team sites which can then be "rolled up" onto a main "Dashboard" type page using MOSS 2007 Standard?

_spBodyOnLoadFunctionNames and multiple functions

Is anyone out there aware of any reason that _spBodyOnLoadFunctionNames.push cannot be called for multiple functions? I have a web part that is using this array to register startup scripts but only the first instance of the web part on a page is getting its function called.....

I have had a request from users to do something that I 'presumed' would be simple.
On each site they create (which is from a template) they want to display the last modified date and last modified user for that site.
It can be in a web part / placeholder etc - so far keep hitting brick walls! Any help would be great. Cheers

I am using some javascript in a content editor webpart to launch an exe, works great as long as there are no spaces in the file name but the exe is held here:
D:\Program Files\Distinction Systems Limited\QL-x\QLX.exe

I have tried every possible ~ "" + as I am sure it is the spaces causing the issue as I can launch from any path without a space, any ideas....
It must be simples.....

Hi all,

I have a site collection with a number of top level sites, all team.
Under each of these there can be any number of sub sites (all team)

My problem is that if a user tries to open any sub site they get access denied message BUT they can click on go back to site and it takes them to the sub site!!, also once they have opened the sub site once they can continue to do so.
The only people who do not get access denied are site collection administrators! Of course I do not want all my users to have to be in this group. ON googling I think it 'maybe' to do with default.aspx but....we only use team sites..(Publishing feature is activated though...) any ideas / same experiences... All I want is for my site viewers to be able to view sub sites (note they DO inherit permissions)

Bulk Upload with Metadata

Does anyone know of a tool, or best approach to bulk uploading data to SharePoint 3.0 and including associated metadata which is stored in an excel file (this can be moved into a SQL database if needed)?
