    Accessing Sharepoint over lan

    Hi

    i have a basic wss v3 installed on a virtual server 2008

everything is fine on the virtual server as expected and i have installed templates etc and is very quick.

(win 2008 datacenter virtual 4 quad duos 32 GB Ram)

i cannot access the main team site from other clients. i can ping the server by name and ip, and have a relevant dns entries on the virtual server and the clients just get page not displayed

i cant see why this does not work, maybe a iis prob, seeing that its server 2008 and a bit different

    thanks

Can you access the admin console and team sites locally on the virtual server?, try creating a test web site and deploying a htm and simple aspx file to it and seeing if you can access them to ensure that IIS is configured correctly and is serving content ok (i'm assuiming the VM is setup to be on the same network as the clients also?)

all seems ok after switching tcp ip dns to automatic , dont know why static was not working although appropriate dns console had correct a record.

    cheers
