    Re: Course recommendations

Saul,  I've been on a couple of the CombinedKnowledge courses up in Ullesthorpe.  The Developer course was a bit over my head but i still learned a lot.  Then went on the Designer course which was great - much more suited to our situation of getting SP running out of the box.   (If only the Designer course was available first).

if you want any more specific info let me know - all the course overview is on the website though

    Steve,

Surely i'm in line for some freebies now !?  I'm sending you more business than Toshiba HD-DVD has seen all year!

On the CK course you get really good course material which i have referenced a fair bit since and when i had problems with user profiles Gary (who ran the Designer course) helped me out a lot via email support.

Also i was lucky both times i was there they had the Coventry SUGUK.org meeting at the same time.

    Re: Course recommendations

I'll second Pete's recommendation, I've attended both the admin and the developer courses and found both to be very well written and delivered. Given that most of the guys from Combined are very heavily involved in the community as well you'll find you that you don't just get the 'microsoft' line from them but real world experience too.

    Re: Course recommendations

Here's a new twist to the question, we've taken on a developer at our Indian Office, and they want to send him on training with a company in Baroda.

    Any recommendations?

    Thanks

    Re: Course recommendations

    Hello all,

Have called combined knowledge and courses look good however the class limit is 16 people which seems alot for a hands-on course.

Can anyone who has attended the Administrator & Designer Courses let me know if this was a problem?

    Cheers

    Ian

    Re: Course recommendations

    Ian,
I didn't find it a problem at all, i'd been using Designer for a couple of months prior to being on the course which helped a bit but generally the pace seemed fine for everyone and Gary who ran the course would check on everyones progress, especially during lab exercises.

Try and book when the SUGUK meeting is on up that way (unless you live near Cov anyway)
