D'you think I'd get anything from this meeting or will there be a future event aimed more at administratores and end business users? I have a software development background (asp/web development) but now manage web/intranet sites.

The focus will be on configuration, administration and why bother (that'd be the business perspective bit). No code or bespoke dev.
