As usual the event will consist of two great sessions sandwiching some networking, snacks/drinks, and polished off with a SharePint down the local village pub, and (for those who want - off for a curry to finish). Always a great night.
Session 1: - Matt Groves - What does the Forefront suite mean to SharePoint
Matt Groves will introduce the Forefront suite (covering the entire suite but focussing on UAG and FIM) and explain how they can benefit a SharePoint deployment by covering some common scenarios. He will include a very brief demo (after sacrificing a chicken!!).
Matt will end his session with a brief overview of 'doing a User Group presentation' – hopefully to inspire you to have a go yourself!!
Session 2: - John Timney - Planning Roles and Salaries for 2010 Professionals
Sharepoint 2010 is simply put, nothing like Sharepoint 2007! It is vastly more scalable, significantly more complex, and hugely appealing as an information management hub. A consequence of the successful re-architecture of the product to such a strategic hub product and the core of the Microsoft tools strategy is that programmes and projects, and consequently employers and recruiters need to think carefully about the new range of planning roles and skillsets required to satisfy a successful end to end delivery of Sharepoint 2010. To compound this, salaries for Sharepoint 2010 Professionals across the board have increased dramatically by as much as 20% as organisations perform a land grab on experienced staff, realising that those better placed will not only weather this skills storm but grab a host of emerging new business opportunities. Recruiters don't get it, nor does HR, so what will you demand as your next planning role in your Sharepoint 2010 career path, and what salary range should you expect as a Sharepoint 2010 professional?
