Hi i need to deploy a content type in a subsite, i made a solution and  if in the feature i set the scope site it works ok, but if in the scope i put web when i  deploy the solution i have this error:

Elements of type 'ContentType' are not supported at the 'Web' scope.  This feature could not be installed.

This means i can't deploy content types using feature with web scope.

I need help on this

Hi,

Content Types are a site collection resource.  They can only be created at the site collection level, they then are available for all sub sites in the site collection.

Is there any reason why they should only be available in the particular web you are trying to deploy to?

The reason is because i have content types specifically for a subsite, and my question is if i can create a content type in a subiste using the sharepoint ui why i can't do the deploy in a subiste using features?
