Is there some type of tool out there to manage MOSS 2007 licensing?
We have some users on in our organisation that has full control top their sites and thus have the ability to add named users. It would be great if there was a license manager that could report on the number of accounts it finds in SharePoint to ensure that we stay compliant.
In our department (IT) we have a domain group called SharePoint-IT, which contains all IT departmental groups which contains the departmental users. The SharePoint-IT group has read access to all sites within the main IT site. This design is used within other departments.
The ability for SharePoint to see (e.g. SharePoint-IT) which domain groups are listed in MOSS and then count all the users in the child groups and users specifically assigned to a site would allow us to determine the number of licenses we should have. This is easy to manage in a small environment, but when you get in to the hundreds/thousands it becomes almost impossible.
Anybody know of an application that would do this?
