Creating Content - Where is GRAVA?

What are people using to create their learning resources???

I am fortunate enough to have ClassServer so I can make learning resource, but they are pretty dated etc.  MS are still developing GRAVA, and I do not know of a release date as of yet.

Re: Creating Content - Where is GRAVA?

Well, in Norway this has been turned around. GRAVA will proberly be used as well, but the main foucus is to get the industry (book publishers) to make SCORM-packages, so that they can be used to complement books, or to replace books. But that is almost war, bcause the publisers want to make money on it, and they feel that it can be a lot like the music-industry were there is a big problem with piracy.

Cuz the focus is that teachers shall teach, not be authors. Today they are using to much time on authoring materials, and this takes away their main focus: TEACHING :-)

But by all means, GRAVA is one way to go, hopfully to get publisers make these SCORM-packages. But GRAVA will not solve the problem where teachers use their time on everything else (but I know a lot of techers are looking forward for this tool :-)

Litle off-track there, but GRAVA is a lot like x-files, you don't belive it, unitil you see it ;-)

Re: Creating Content - Where is GRAVA?

I can't share any specific details with you but Grava is progressing and has just entered CTP2 stage.

I have not had chance to review it but will be over the coming month or so.

One thing we can safely say is the SCORM is here to stay.  Microsoft have released SharePoint learning materials in SCORM and Mindsharp have also produced all of their CBT content in SCORM format which was demo'd at SPC2008.

This doesn't solve the current lack of good tools but things are moving in the right direction.

    Remco,

Thanks for posting this - I hadn't heard anything about this tool.  Will get playing over the next few days.

I also know - but yet to get a copy myself that Grava is now at CTP 2.

Re: Creating Content - Where is GRAVA?

No problem. I really like this tool, just easy for teachers. The current GRAVA version (CTP2) is not really userfriendly.

I really don't known (like andrew) if the LCDS tool will be commercial available.

    regards,

    Remco
