    Changing the Admin Password

Our network admins have changed the admin password.  They have changed the spsadminusr password.  I now cannot get the search function working on our portal.

I have restarted the SharePoint Portal Administration Service and the Microsoft SharepointPS Search Service on the server and changed the "Log On" account password for these services accordingly.

I have also gone to Sharepoint Central Administration page, and tried to update the passwords in the section headed "Configure Server Farm Account Settings" however, I get this error message:

"Error Accessing database. Verify that the database server name and the instance name (if present) are correct.  Also, ensure that the configuration database administration has sufficient permissions on the server or instance corresponding to your SQL Server instance and is running."

Any ideas?  Our network admins don't know anything about Sharepoint...

    Cheers.

Yes, the SPSadminusr account has "public" and "db_owner" rights.
