    Shared Service Providers Question

    Hi Guys

Currently have a WSS+Project Server 2007 deployment used primarily by IT.  I am about to upgrade this to MOSS Enterprise and open it up to the rest of the business for doc management etc.

The existing delpoyment has a single SSP serving Project Application, Search and the usual stuff.

Is it worth my while setting up a second SSP to serve the remaining areas of the business with Search, My Sites, Portal etc.?

Its a small farm (2-tier) and there are approx 200 users.

    Many thanks

    Mark

    Re: Shared Service Providers Question

If you don't need to isolate the content securely, then personally for the size of farm, etc i would stick to the one SSP, this will make admin easier overall too. agood reference from the horses mouth so to speak : http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc263276.aspx

    Re: Shared Service Providers Question

I would second that, you pretty much need a clear reason for more than 1 SSP and the extra management overhead without that clear reason is not going to be worth it....

You have to ask yourself what will the benefit be for your organisation.

    Regards
