    Hi,

Can you provide some more details in order for us to help you?

What operating system version are you running?

Which version of Internet Explorer are you using?

Which version of Powerpoint do you have installed on your computer

Has this ever worked on your computer?

Can you edit the powerpoint presentation when launched from a file store rather than SharePoint?

Ok, that seems fine. Do you have any Office 2007 applications installed such as OneNote or SharePoint Designers?

If so, then there is a known problem with the OWSSUPP.DLL file. You basically need to copy the OWSSUPP.DLL file from the Office 11 folder to the Office 12 folder and re-register it.

Re: Sharepoint Error - No one else has it

You posted in the SharePoint 2003 section but nonetheless, Sharepoint is a server based application and doesn't run on your desktop, it is provided by a browser and served by your network server. It's not installed on your Windows XP desktop.

Check to see if you have the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12 folder on your system. If you do, you may have to copy and reregister the dll as described in the previous post.

Yes I have the folder and have copied the owssupp.dll into it but how do I re-register it?

Re: Sharepoint Error - No one else has it

Run a command prompt and type the following (hit enter after each line):

    C:\

    CD "Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12"

    Regsvr32 OWSSUPP.DLL

This will re-register the dll on your system. You should get a windows box popup and it'll normally say that the operation failed, you can ignore this. If this was your problem with Sharepoint/Powerpoint, you should now be able to edit powerpoint files from the Sharepoint links (restart your browser though first though).

Be aware however, that if you install any other Office 12 based applications, you may need to go back and re-do this change.

Re: Sharepoint Error - No one else has it

Then as a last resort, I'd recommend trying this hotfix from Microsoft. If this doesn't work, you should give them a call.
