    MOSS Search not working

    Hi

We just upgraded to MOSS 2007 from SPS 2003. Has run smoothly upgrading the sites etc but cannot get Search to work.

     All we get is:-

No results matching your search were found.

I have tried a full crawl, and it said its crawled but only 1 item in the index.

FYI, We are running on SQL 2000

    Any help appreciated...

You could try reseting the index and performing a full crawl.  After the crawl did you have any errors in the crawl log?

    Re: MOSS Search not working

got a little bit further, it now says crawled again. but still 1 in the index.

It goes from Crawling, to computer ranking and then idle in about 5 seconds.

    Re: MOSS Search not working

Looks like the default content access account doesn't have access to the sharepoint sites.  This user needs to have read rights in SharePoint.  You set this in the Shared Services Provider > Search Settings.

In the Search settings page you should see a link to reset all crawled content.

    Re: MOSS Search not working

done that, in the search results it found a page under construction, but looks like it is working but not the old content on sites etc.

so like you said sounds like rights on the sites, but I am using administrator account as the content access.

I wonder if there is something in the sites settings under each site for search.
