Windows SharePoint Services 3 Search Error Event ID 4127

    Hi.

I am running SQL Server 2005 and MOSS 2007. I am receiving the following error in the event logs:

    Event Type:    Error
Event Source:    Windows SharePoint Services 3 Search
    Event Category:    Content index server
    Event ID:    4127
    Date:        8/22/2011
    Time:        8:56:03 AM
    User:        N/A
    Computer:    SAWIN1SP01
    Description:
Content index on Search could not be initialized. Error The content index data on disk is for the wrong version.   0xc0041821.Component: 70ebf425-b4cd-4f4f-bfe1-a3caddfae2f1

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
I have created a new SSP and associated databases in order to restart search.  All services appear to have been started and databases created but when I look in the SharePoint logs I find the following error message:

**  have been able to find little or no information relating to both the Event ID 4127 AND the Error the content index data on disk is for the wrong version.  I have checked the registry and the local drives for the application 70ebf425-b4cd-4f4f-bfe1-a3caddfae2f1.  The conflict that I see is that when stopping SPSearch, a snapshot is placed in the registry and the application is 70ebf425-b4cd-4f4f-bfe1-a3caddfae2f1.  But when SPSearch is restarted, I receive the Event ID 4127 in the event logs AND the following message in the SharePoint Logs:

    Timestamp:    08/22/2011 09:21:15.74
    Process:      OWSTIMER.EXE (0x1700)
    TID:          0x11B0
    Area:         Search Server Common
    Category:     MS Search Administration
    EventID:      7pgh
    Level:        High
Message:      Unable to find application '71be13aa-fe4d-44c2-901c-33287eacbcc1'

It appears as if the snapshot is out of sync with the application that the Timer Job is expecting to find.

I have found that the Timer Job, SharePoint Services Search Refresh stays at 50% and will not complete. This time job validates the configuration of the WSS Search Service.

BTW. I have created a new SSP.  Still not working.
