We want to stop clients mapping the Sharepoint site to explorer and I believe that this is done by unticking the Remote Interfaces permission. However, this also unticks the Client Integration Features box and Sharepoint specifically warns that this will block online editing. In fact, the editing option disappears altogether, requiring documents to be saved locally, worked on and then (I think) uploaded to the site again. We want to block the mapping but not the online editing - is there a way round this problem ? (Having said this, the more I think about it the more it seems that editing offline is quite a good discipline and will encourage users to better keep track of documents and work more carefully and precisely on them - anyone agree ?).
